Belle Momenti wedding photography winners enjoy prize package

Competition winners Sunny Glasson and Daniel de Bourg won their dream wedding photography package, saving them a fortune on their big day. Here they share the story of their relaxed wedding details with Bride and we explain how you can win an experience like theirs

Photography by Belle Momenti Photography

Among the long list of costly requirements for most couple’s dream wedding is an inspiring photographer who can capture the beautiful day perfectly.

So imagine winning a professional wedding photography package to take care of recording all those precious memories – all free of charge. Sounds too good to be true doesn’t it? Not for Sunny and Dan de Bourg.

Like any other engaged couple, Sunny and Dan were searching for the ideal wedding photographer and by chance, decided to enter a competition at our own Bride: The Wedding Show at Knebworth Barns, with Belle Momenti Photography.

Now, in a special feature with Bride, Sunny and Dan share their wedding experience with Belle Momenti Photography, showcasing the images that didn’t cost them a penny thanks to a spur of the moment competition entry.

Soon after Sunny and Dan became engaged, Dan’s then beautiful fiancé was attending the Knebworth House BRIDE Wedding Show and met the lovely André and Suzanne of Belle Momenti. They were offering a chance to win their fantastic full day wedding photography service so of course Sunny decided to give it a go and entered the competition.

They were both extremely excited to hear back from André and Suzanne a few weeks later, when they told us they were finalists in the competition and were invited to meet them at their lovely studio in Hitchin. Soon after the ‘finalists interview’, they surprised them with the fantastic news that they had won their full day photography package for 2016!.

Daniel is also a recording artist and has a Youtube channel with over 200,000 subscribers and 35 million views:  https://www.youtube.com/user/danieldb13. Daniel was also a live finalist on the 2007 series of The X Factor. He will appear in Disney’s Aladdin Musical at the Prince Edward Theatre, London from June 2016.

Unfortunately with his recording career and rehearsals for Aladdin, this meant that Sunny really did need to organise everything.

Sunny & Dan had their wedding booked for June 2016 which they then had to bring forward to fit in with timings for Dan’s new role in the West End show of Aladdin… and no, it did not go down well with Sunny at first, especially since save the dates had already been sent out to all of their guests! Anyway, not only were André and Suzanne completely accommodating with the wedding date change, they also supported the couple in choosing a date based on weather expectations and helped them to research and plan like it was their own wedding.

Sunny & Dan first saw Belle Momenti in action at their good friends’ wedding at Hatfield House in 2015. They were so impressed with their professionalism and their efforts throughout the day. They could see how passionate they are and how well they work together capturing different shots yet never disturbing the natural flow of the day.

As their big day approached, Belle Momenti were there every step of the way, making sure they knew every detail and meeting the couple again to run through which photo types we preferred and timings of speeches, etc. Having changed the original wedding date to two months earlier, this meant that they had to reschedule their pre-wedding photo session to just two weeks prior to the new date.

Sunny & Dan had their pre-wedding shoot at the stunning venue, Luton Hoo, recommended by André and Suzanne. They were so lucky to have beautiful weather and capture some ‘bling’ shots in the sunshine as Suzanne likes to call them. Sunny & Dan had great fun with them and they made us feel very comfortable taking us aside separately for individual shots and then together for romantic shots in the garden, on the bridge and amongst the daffodils. Sunny & Dan loved their competitive nature and their differing photography techniques, meaning they had the best of both worlds.

Sunny & Dan selected Coltsfoot Country Retreat in Hertfordshire for their wedding venue. This had the potential as a major challenge for Andre & Suzanne, as the weather in March is typically cold and wet. They were extremely assuring that, whatever the weather, they had back up plans to ensure the day would be captured. As it turned out, it was one of the sunniest and warmest days anyone could have imagined.

On the wedding day, they were simply perfect. Even when Dan was flapping around 30 minutes before his big moment because he’d left his son’s patent shoes at home, André managed to calm Dan down, he found a solution and still managed to get his shots in!

Meanwhile, Suzanne was in the bridal suite, being completely patient with screaming nieces and nephews and frantic rushing in the last half hour before the ceremony.

André and Suzanne were with Sunny & Dan from ‘getting ready’ to the ceremony, speeches, bouquet throwing, cutting the cake, the first dance and everything in between.

Sunny & Dan couldn’t recommend Belle Momenti any higher and couldn’t imagine anyone else being with them and capturing all of those special memories. They are consummate professionals, exquisitely creative and yet beautifully grounded and amiable.

LAKE COMO WEDDING

UWMlogoweb.png

Delighted to welcome to our blog this morning a little bit of Italian glamour and inspiration. Lisa and Fran married at Castello Di Rossino on 26th July 2015 and followed with a dreamy few days touring Italy. This is quite simply La Dolce Vita!

Thank you to Belle Momenti for sending this beautiful real wedding to us. Enjoy!

Your love story

“My mum was actually Fran’s hairdresser for about 15 years before I really knew who he was. We were in our University union one night and someone tapped me on the shoulder. When I turned around Fran and his twin brother were standing there. Fran blurted out “excuse me, but are you Elaine Cameron’s daughter?” That was the first time we properly met but after that, I didn’t really see him out. It was about 7 years later when he sent me a message on Facebook that we finally went on our first date.”

“Our first date was at my flat where Fran cooked for me and he admitted to having had a crush on me since he was 16. At the time, I worked in a sports shop and he used to ask his mum to take him to look for trainers so he could come in. Not exactly love at first sight but we got there in the end. One and a half years later Fran got down on one knee in the house where we had our first date and asked me to marry him.”

How did you arrange your wedding?

“As the wedding was in Italy and Fran can speak Italian he dealt with the paperwork side of things, liaising with the town hall in Italy and the embassy in Scotland. I looked after everything else which although I moaned about, it was actually for the best. If I’d left things to other people, I’d end up checking up on it all and driving them insane. I’m an uber organised person so realistically it made much more sense for me to be in charge of the ‘borderline OCD spreadsheet’ as Fran referred to it. We did make all the big decisions together though in terms of the band, suits, flowers etc, so I’d say it was a pretty even split.”

What did you both wear?

“I wore a Jenny Packham Esme dress in white with a plain Chapel length veil and a pair of T-bar Charlotte Mills shoes. Fran wore a Hugo Boss suit and shirt with a pair of Russell and Bromley shoes. He also had on a rose gold pocket watch, which I gave him as a wedding gift and he opened on the day.”

What venue did you choose?

“I saw Castello Di Rossino after searching online for venues in Lecco. We were trying to avoid Lake Como and Fran’s cousin suggested Lecco which is a town sitting on a smaller lake just off Lake Como. As soon as I saw Castello Di Rossino on the internet I knew we had to, at least, visit it. After going to various venue’s on Lake Maggiore and Lake Orta we visited Rossino and there was just no competition.”

“Rossino is one of the oldest Castle’s in Lombardy and boasts stunning views over the lakes. It has been beautifully restored inside making it comfortable but not too modern. The main tower has two double bedrooms with a bathroom, which we stayed in on the night of the wedding. We held our ceremony and reception there which saved us having to move guests between venues and luckily Rossino had a license to hold civil ceremonies which meant the wedding was legal.”

Was the day how you imagined?

“The ceremony itself was quite funny as we had a representative of the town hall and a translator. The Italian Civil Ceremony is basically a list of clauses which the couple agree to and as it wasn’t as clear cut as ‘I now pronounce you husband and wife’ we had a celebratory cheer which turned out to be a bit premature. It really did add to the relaxed nature of the day, though. I’ve never been a fan of overly formal weddings and this provided a few giggles throughout. It was lovely for all our friends and families to see a different kind of marriage celebration and with the Italian side of the family being there it really felt like the coming together of two cultures.”

What advice would you give to other couples?

“My advice would be not to spend lots of money on a wedding planner. We did have help as Fran’s family are based in Milan but in terms of the suppliers themselves, most speak good English. For our venue, flowers, band, catering etc. I used google to source and then arranged a meeting with them to select the correct ones. It gave us a real sense of achievement knowing we had pulled everything together ourselves plus saved a lot of money. The one area a planner might be useful for is the paperwork, however, we found the Italian Embassy took care of all of this for us.”

Where did you go for your honeymoon?

“We had quite a short honeymoon as we were in Italy for a few days before the wedding. We hired a car, a very sexy Fiat Panda, and drove down to Lake Garda for a couple of days and then caught the train to Venice for two days. It was really nice getting away and having time by ourselves after all the people at the wedding and staying in our Villa with 12 other people. Venice, in particular, was amazing and very romantic. We returned to Milan and had our final night in the Aperol bar overlooking the Duomo. There was a young singer there busking in the square and as we passed he started singing the song I walked down the aisle to. It was a very fitting end to our honeymoon!”

Happy Couple Win their Wedding Photography Prize at Bride: The Wedding Show, Knebworth Barns… Now Win Yours

Competition winners Josh Greenbank and Lucy Boniface won their dream wedding photography package, saving them a fortune on their big day. Here they share the story of their relaxed tipi wedding details with Bride and we explain how you can win an experience like theirs

So imagine winning a professional wedding photography package to take care of recording all those precious memories – all free of charge. Sounds too good to be true doesn’t it? Not for Josh and Lucy Greenbank.

Like any other engaged couple, Lucy and Josh were searching for the ideal wedding photographer and by chance, decided to enter a competition at our own Bride: The Wedding Show at Knebworth Barns, with Belle Momenti Photography.

After studying the stand and portfolio of the Hitchin-based photography team, the couple liked what they saw and entered the company’s grand prize draw to win a full-day wedding photography package. They were later selected as the winners from hundreds of engagedcouples all trying their chances to win their dream photography prize.

Now, in a special feature with Bride, Josh and Lucy share their wedding experience with Belle Momenti Photography, showcasing the images that didn’t cost them a penny thanks to a spur of the moment competition entry.

Their relaxed wedding combined an executive helicopter journey from the church ceremony with fun wedding tipis decorated with sheepskin rugs and sequin table runners on wooden tables and of course, the presence of their beloved dog, Hugo.

After the success of the shoot with Josh and Lucy, Belle Momenti Photography has decided to repeat the grand prize draw at the forthcoming 2016 Bride Wedding Show on January 9 and 10 at Knebworth House, Stevenage.

So, with this in mind, the company is inviting all readers to pop by their stand to enter this fabulous competition and be in with a chance of winning their all-day wedding photography service.

But first, hear first hand from Josh and Lucy what you could win…

The winners’ story
“As my mum and I walked around the Bride 2015 Wedding Show at Knebworth, I was feeling quite excited. We’d only been engaged a matter of weeks and had originally decided we’d wait a year or so.

“I knew that a photographer would be my next priority: mum and I chatted to some lovely photographers, some who were available, and some not. We got to Belle Momenti’s stand and as I looked at the photos on display, no one disturbed me… I liked that. I in fact walked in to speak to the man I now know was André.

happy-couple-win-photography-4

“He mentioned about a competition they were running, gave me a form and sort of left me to it. I’ll be honest, I filled in the form and did think of it as a bit of a marketing exercise. How wrong was I!

“All I do know is that I walked away from that stand and said to my mum ‘I want them to do our photography’. We left the wedding show with piles of information, suppliers details and what I didn’t think was possible even more ideas.”

Drawn as finalists
“A week or so passed and I received an email from André and Suzanne at Belle Momenti asking if Josh and I could go and see them at their studio as we had been drawn as one of the three finalists.

“Of course we accepted and a couple of weeks later found ourselves sitting in their lovely Studio in Hitchin. I soon realised we were all going to get on like a house on fire. Each armed with a cuppa, we soon got talking about our wedding plans.

happy-couple-win-photography-5

“We finished our two-hour chat by answering why we should win the competition. We could have gone really overboard here but it was important to us that the photographers (even if they weren’t Suzanne and André) wanted to be a part of our wedding day so we simply said: ‘We want our wedding to be fun, relaxed, different and rustic with a hint of glam and hope that you’d feel like guests and not just the photographers.’

“With that, Josh and I left the studio and went for dinner and spent all evening saying how much we hoped we were successful and what a lovely afternoon we’d had with them. One thing Josh and I did know was that Suzanne and André would be our photographers even if we didn’t win.”

happy-couple-win-photography-6

Winning news
We didn’t have to wait long as the next day we got the amazing news that we’d only gone and won. Josh and I couldn’t believe our luck and on Valentine’s Day when it was announced it was the loveliest feeling.”

The pre-shoot
We had the pre-wedding shoot to get through, which I knew Josh was especially worried about. Josh cannot smile on cue. He really is Chandler Bing!

“As much as I adore him I knew this would be a challenge. Josh was just going to have to learn to look happy. On the day of the pre-wedding shoot we met André and Suzanne at our house, chatted through our wedding plans, with our crazy spaniel Hugo. We then ventured to the venue, an old working farm where I kept my horse Angel. Josh went off with André and I went with Suzanne the aim being that we got relaxed in front of the camera before we had photos together.”

happy-couple-win-photography-7

We were given tips on what to do and how to ‘pose’ (for want of a better word) on the wedding day. We both felt much more relaxed about the cameras and looked forward to seeing the photos. The pre-wedding photos arrived and we were both so pleased with them. Josh was even smiling. We chose one that was used for the signing mount and then knew the countdown the big day had really started.”

 happy-couple-win-photography-8

The wedding day
The wedding day arrived and Suzanne came to me at the venue with André meeting up with Josh at our house. I couldn’t wait to show her the tipis; a small army of people had helped us the day before to help us create every idea that had been stored in our heads become reality.

“When a photographer walks in and says ‘wow’ despite the rain and considering the hundreds of other beautiful weddings she had photographed, I knew that the tipis were something to be proud of.

“André and Suzanne had put together a schedule for the day, which I was so grateful for. I don’t remember seeing either of them during the church service, which was exactly what we both wanted. I’d planned a surprise for Josh a helicopter to get us from the church to the venue, which they were in on. Throughout the reception, after the group shots from arrival drinks to the first dance, I saw them every now and then discretely taking photos of all the important people in our lives, including Hugo the dog and Angel the horse.

We had another surprise in the evening for all of our guests: a drag act. A bit different for a wedding, but Doug, or should I say ‘Candy Couture’, is a very dear friend of ours. He offered and how could we say no. It was the perfect addition to a perfect day and again, André and Suzanne were there taking photos at all the right moments whilst Candy did her incredibly talented act. I was genuinely sad when they left us after the evening entertainment. They had simply been marvellous, all day.

“About a month after the wedding, we went to their studio to see our official photos. They’d created a beautiful slide show, set to music from our day and the photographs certainly didn’t disappoint. They had captured every moment that I could remember and many that we didn’t: relaxed photos, stylised photos, funny photos, emotional photos everything about them was perfect.”

Of the three couples selected as Finalists, two couples were, for very different reasons, clear winners. We had an instant rapport with them, loved their wedding plans and they loved our work & style of photography. As the two couples are getting married in different years, we have decided to extend the prize to one couple getting married in 2015 and one couple getting married in 2016.

We are therefore delighted to announce that the 2015 Winning couple are Lucy & Josh and the 2016 winning couple are Dan & Sunny.
We are extremely excited to be working with both couples and look forward to sharing their special day.
